Upload 1099 data file to Colorado
Registration is Required: Prior to uploading 1099 files you will need to register with Colorado Revenue Online.
- To register with Revenue Online
- Click here to access the Colorado Revenue Online website http://www.Colorado.gov/RevenueOnline
- Under Withholding, click on Submit Year End Withholding
- click on Request Withholding Submitter Access
- Click [Next] on the Instructions page
- Click [Next] on the Additional Information page
- Complete the Registration information and click [Next] on the Taxpayer Information page
- Confirm the information and click [Submit]
- Enter and verify all 1099 data
- Enter the Submitter Information
- Click E-file Direct > Submitter Information
- Submitter information is person uploading the file
- Contact information is the Firm information preparing the 1099s
- Create the data file to upload
- Click E-file Direct > Create 1099/1098 Files > Create State 1099/1098 File and select Colorado
- Select a submitter
- Upload file information is the name and location of the file being created. You will need this information during the upload process.
- Click the [Create File] button to create the upload file.
- Upload the data file
- Click here to access the Colorado Revenue Online website http://www.Colorado.gov/RevenueOnline
- Under Withholding, click on Submit Year End Withholding
- click on Submit a Withholding File Attachment
- Click [Next] on the Instructions
- Use the drop down menu to select 1099 / W-2G File as the file type to submit and click [Next]
- Enter the Submitter Information and click [Next]
- Click Attach a File
- Use the drop down menu to select 1099 / W-2G File (.txt) as the file type
- Enter a desciption for the file being uploaded
- Click the [Browse...] button to open the File Upload window
- Use the File Upload window to browse and locate the file created with the W2/1099 Filer
- 1. Select file location - By default the files created will be in C:\TAS\23W21099\Efile\CompanyName\CO
- 2. Select the file
- 3. Click [Open] button to close the window
- On the Select a File to attach screen, click [OK]
- On the Attach a file screen, click [Next]
- Testing the Data File
- You can test the data file before you upload it by clicking on Test Your Year End Withholding File Attachment on the Colorado Revenue Online website under Withholding
- THE FILE MUST STILL BE UPLOADED (see Upload the data file above)
