Upload 1099 data file to Georgia
Registration is Required: You will need to have username and account with Georgia Tax Center.
- To Register with the Gorgia Tax Center
- Click here to access the Georgia Tax Center https://gtc.dor.ga.gov/_/
- Register to file and pay taxes for your business
- Click on Sign-Up on the right side if your business has previously filed a return in the state of Georgia and you have never created an online Georgia Tax Center (GTC) logon.
- Register to file for your clients
- Click on Third Party Registration under Registration if you have a valid NAICS code for a tax preparer.
- Enter and verify all 1099 data
- Enter the Submitter Information
- Click E-file Direct > Submitter Information
- Submitter information is person uploading the file
- Contact information is the Firm information preparing the 1099s
- Create the data file to upload
- Click E-file Direct > Create 1099/1098 Files > Create State 1099/1098 File and select Georgia
- Select a submitter
- Upload file information is the name and location of the file being created. You will need this information during the upload process.
- Click the [Create File] button to create the upload file.
- Upload the data file
- Click here to access the Georgia Tax Center https://gtc.dor.ga.gov/_/
- Enter Username and Password and click on “login” on the right side
- Click on See More Links under I Want To
- Click on Upload a File
- Select 1099 (Pub 1220 Format) from the dropdown list
- Click on Add Attachment to browse and locate the file created with the W2/1099 Filer
- You will receive a confirmation number indicating the file was successfully uploaded
