Upload 1099 data file to North Dakota
Registration is Required: You will need to have username and account with North Dakota TAP.
- To Create a Username
- Click here to access North Dakota TAP https://apps.nd.gov/tax/tap/_/
- Click on Sign Up For Access on the right side
- Then click on Continue to Sign Up For Access on the next screen
- Select the Access Type
- Enter the required Information to Create Username and Password
- Enter and verify all 1099 data
- Enter the Submitter Information
- Click E-file Direct > Submitter Information
- Submitter information is person uploading the file
- Contact information is the Firm information preparing the 1099s
- Create the data file to upload
- Click E-file Direct > Create 1099/1098 Files > Create State 1099/1098 File and select North Dakota
- Select a submitter
- Upload file information is the name and location of the file being created. You will need this information during the upload process.
- Click the [Create File] button to create the upload file.
- Upload the data file
- Click here to access North Dakota TAP https://apps.nd.gov/tax/tap/_/
- Enter your Username and Password and click on “Log In” on the right side
- Click on I Want To...
- Click on Upload/Enter 1099s under 1099s and W-2s
- Click on [Upload File]
- Click on Click here to attach your 1099 file
- Select 1099 Upload File from the type drop down list
- Fill in a description
- Click [Browse...] to browse and locate the file created with the W2/1099 Filer
- 1. Select file location - By default the files created will be in C:\TAS\23W21099\Efile\CompanyName\ND
- 2. Select the file
- 3. Click [Open] button to close the window
- Click OK on the Select a file to attach screen
- Click [Submit] on the right under Attachments to transmit the W-2 information to the North Dakota Office of State Tax Commissioner.
- Save the Confirmation Number for your reference
