Upload 1099 data file to New Jersey

Two options are available for uploading W-2 information to the NJ Division of Taxation:

1. Employer Payroll Tax Upload Service: registration is NOT required
2. The NJ secure electronic bulk filing service Axway. Registration is Required see information below

• Enter and verify all 1099 data




• Enter the Submitter Information


• Click E-file Direct > Submitter Information
• Submitter information is person uploading the file
• Contact information is the Firm information preparing the 1099s



• Create the data file to upload


• Click E-file Direct > Create 1099/1098 Files > Create State 1099/1098 File and select New Jersey
• Select a submitter
• Upload file information is the name and location of the file being created. You will need this information during the upload process.
• Click the [Create File] button to create the upload file.



• Upload the data file using the Employer Payroll Tax Upload Service:

• Select 1099/1099 Corrected as the return Type
• Click the [Add File] button to open the File Upload window





• Use the File Upload window to browse and locate the file created with the W2/1099 Filer
  • 1. Select file location - By default the files created will be in C:\TAS\23W21099\Efile\CompanyName\NJ
  • 2. Select the file
  • 3. Click [Open] button to close the window
  
  
  
  
  
  • On the Processing Menu page click [Continue]
  • On the Attached Document(s) page click [Continue] to submit the file
  
  
  
  
  
  • You will receive a confirmation page and confirmation email upon completion of your filing submission.
  
  
  
  
• Upload the data file using the NJ Axway


• A login name and password can be obtained by e-mailing the Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services
• E-mail requests to e-GovServices@treas.nj.gov
• For current WR-30 E-Filers, use the same Axway login profile to access the website.
• Click here to access the New Jersey Axway Secure Transport https://mft-sonj.axwaycloud.com/
• Enter your User ID and Password and click [Sign in]
• Click [Browse] to open the File Upload Window
• Select the file to upload
• Click the [Open] button to close the File Upload window
• Click [Upload File] to submit the file.
