Upload 1099 data file to West Virginia
Registration is Required: You will need to have username and account with West Virginia State Tax Department.
- To Create a Username
- Enter and verify all 1099 data
- Enter the Submitter Information
- Click E-file Direct > Submitter Information
- Submitter information is person uploading the file
- Contact information is the Firm information preparing the 1099s
- Create the data file to upload
- Click E-file Direct > Create 1099/1098 Files > Create State 1099/1098 File and select West Virginia
- Select a submitter
- Upload file information is the name and location of the file being created. You will need this information during the upload process.
- Click the [Create File] button to create the upload file.
- Upload the data file
- Click here to access the West Virginia State Tax Department https://mytaxes.wvtax.gov/_/
- Enter your Username and Password and click on Log In on the right side
- Click Upload Files located on the Site Navigation Bar.
- Click Upload a New File.
- Select 1099 from the File Layout drop down box.
- Click the Browse button to browse and locate the file created with the W2/1099 Filer
- Click Upload
- Review the results of your Upload at the top of the page:
- Click Submit Now
