Upload W-2 data file to Kentucky
Registration is Required: You will need to complete form and submit 42A808 with the Kentucky Department of Revenue prior to uploading files.
- To Create a Username
- Click here to access the Kentucky Department of Revenue https://revweb.ky.gov/w2ftp/wfLogon.aspx
- Click the link for Form 42A808 to complete the registration form and mailed or fax it to:
- Kentucky Department of Revenue
- Withholding Tax Branch
- PO Box 181, Station 57
- Frankfort, KY 40602-0181
- FAX 502-564-3685
- Enter and verify all W2 data
- Enter the Submitter Information
- Click E-file Direct > Submitter Information
- Submitter information is person uploading the file
- Contact information is the Firm information preparing the W-2s
- Create the data file to upload
- Click E-file Direct > Create W-2 Files > Create State file and select Kentucky
- Select a submitter
- Upload file information is the name and location of the file being created. You will need this information during the upload process.
- Click the [Create File] button to create the upload file.
- Upload the data file

- Enter your FEIN & PIN and click on [LOGON]
- On the Submit Withholding File page verify the Employer FEIN and email address
- Confirm the Tax Year
- Click the [Browse...] button to open the File Upload window
- Use the File Upload window to browse and locate the file created with the W2/1099 Filer
- 1. Select file location - By default the files created will be in C:\TAS\23W21099\Efile\CompanyName\KY
- 2. Select the file
- 3. Click [Open] button to close the window
- On the Submit Withholding File page click the [Submit] button to submit the file to the
Kentucky Department of Revenue - You should recieve a confirmation page indicating that the file has been transmitted successfully
- After the file has been accepted by the DOR you will receive a confirmation e-mail indicating the file status
