Electronic reporting of W-2 information to Rhode Island

• Enter and verify all W2 data




• Enter the Submitter Information


• Click E-file Direct > Submitter Information
• Submitter information is person uploading the file
• Contact information is the Firm information preparing the W-2s



• Create the data file


• Click E-file Direct > Create W-2 Files > Create State file and select Rhode Island
• Select a submitter
• Upload file information is the name and location of the file being created. You will need this information to transfer the data to the CD/DVD.
• Click the [Create File] button to create the upload file.



• Submit file to Rhode Island on CD/DVD


• Copy the file created above to a CD/DVD
• Include Form RI-W3 with each CD/DVD submission.
• Mail the CD/DVD to:

• Submit file to Rhode Island using EFT

• Form RI-W3 must be filed on paper and mailed to the address above
